About Kimi Rassi

My name is Kimi and I am the owner of KimiCrafts Bowtique! I am a mom of two boys, yet hairbows have been my calling and niche. Who knew?! Ten years ago, someone said the words, 'you should sell your bows online," and the rest is history. What started as a tiny idea quickly grew into a career.
In 2011, I was about to attend medical school after giving birth to my youngest son. However, life had other plans. Unfortunately, a botched surgery caused my health to spiral out of control and I was faced with the difficult reality that I was incredibly sick and could not attend school and pursue my dreams. I will admit I was truly crushed and spent some time questioning why this was happening and what my purpose was...I had spent my entire life preparing to be a doctor and now I was looking at myself in the mirror wondering if I had what it took to do anything else in life. However, when those words were mentioned to me about selling hairbows, I said 'Why not?,' and took the plunge. I've never looked back and I am so thankful I went for it at a time when I was most unsure about myself.
In this time, I have had nine surgeries, with my final one (for now) in 2018. KimiCrafts grew during those years by leaps and bounds, but sadly at times i would have to temporarily close to recover from surgeries, sometimes months or even a year at a time. I burned myself out regularly and I pushed myself because I wanted to be successful and feel useful, if that makes sense. In 2018, I told myself I HAD to step away and focus on my self-care, mental health, and recovery from surgery. It was an extremely important and tough step for me to take, but I am beyond thankful I did so.
Fast forward to the beginning of this year, and even though I deal with severe chronic pain and lupus, I decided it was time to reopen KimiCrafts and give it my all again. Besides Hairbows, I handcraft Chunky Bead Necklaces, Bracelets, and Keychains for Children and Adults! I also sell and create masks and stickers. If you have an idea, I would love to make something beautiful for you!
With that being said, I am thrilled to share my creations and business with you, and I hope you are, too!
